Experience
Managing Director, Operations & Events
GamesBeatMay 2025 - Present

As Managing Director of Operations & Events at the newly independent GamesBeat, I lead the company’s business operations, product development, and event strategy. My role includes P&L management, team operations, partner coordination, and oversight of our digital roadmap—ensuring that both our live experiences and digital platforms scale in alignment with our growth goals. I also direct the planning and execution of our flagship events, including GamesBeat Summit, Next, Engage, and Insider Series, convening leaders who are shaping the future of the gaming industry. With 20+ years of entrepreneurial experience, I bring a hands-on, builder mindset to driving GamesBeat’s next chapter as the leading games industry media brand.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own company-wide operations, tech stack, event strategy, and full P&L; set OKRs, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, editorial, product) and vendor ecosystem end-to-end.
  • Direct flagship programs—GamesBeat Summit, Next, Engage, and Insider Series—from concept to on-site execution.
  • Build the digital roadmap (site, membership, analytics, martech/CRM) to scale audience and revenue.
  • Drive GTM for events and products; optimize pipeline → registration → attendance conversion.
  • Recruit, curate, and prepare speakers; align themes and tracks with industry trends and editorial priorities.
  • Develop partnerships and sponsorships with gaming, tech, and investment leaders; negotiate complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Establish operating playbooks, RACI, and KPI dashboards for continuous improvement.
  • Champion a builder mindset—standing up new formats, workflows, and tools to accelerate growth.
Head of Events

I led the GamesBeat event business at VentureBeat, building it into a premier platform for industry leadership, innovation, and dealmaking. I scaled flagship conferences like GamesBeat Summit and GamesBeat Next, launched new event formats, drove revenue growth, and built deep partnerships across gaming, tech, and investment sectors. From strategy to execution, I owned the full business, brand, and experience.

My responsibilities included:

  • Owned strategy, brand, and full P&L for the GamesBeat events business.
  • Scaled flagship conferences (Summit, Next) and launched Engage, Hollywood & Games, executive roundtables, and debate series.
  • Led cross-functional teams and agencies across sales, marketing, editorial, production; hired, mentored, and scaled talent.
  • Drove revenue via sponsorships and ticketing; negotiated six-figure, multi-partner deals.
  • Forged strategic partnerships across gaming, tech, and investment ecosystems to expand reach and influence.
  • Built program strategy (themes, tracks, speakers) aligned with VentureBeat editorial and market trends.
  • Grew audience and community with VIP/invite-only experiences; owned GTM and pipeline-to-attendance conversion.
  • Directed operations end-to-end: venue sourcing, budgets, A/V, registration/badging, signage, security, run-of-show.
  • Instituted data/insights cadence with executive reporting and continuous optimization.
